About   TheEaglesSuck.com

Hi, thanks for visiting TheEaglesSuck.com (unless you're an e-GALS fan)!
My name is Chris Martin and I despise the eagles like no other sports team on this earth (lame fans, sub par cheerleading squad, those horrific Chunky Soup commercials with Donovan McNabb’s mom, etc.). As you can see, I don't bother capitalizing "eagles", since it's just not worth my time.

My extreme dislike for the eagles began from my childhood days in Fleetwood, Pennsylvania, about 50 miles northwest of Philadelphia. Currently, I live in Manhattan, but growing up I cheered for all the Philadelphia teams, including the Phillies, Sixers, and Flyers. We usually made it down to “The Vet” at least once a year to root on the likes of Pete Rose, Michael Jack Schmidt, Von Hayes, and Juan Samuel in baseball. That homerun by Joe Carter in the 1993 World Series off “The Wild Thing” was a killer! I was also a huge fan of the Sixers and Charles Barkley, not to mention Rick Tocchet and the Flyers.

The one deviation was the eagles. My dad has been a Cowboy fan his entire life, so what can I say, I was somewhat “brainwashed”. So, for all you eagle delinquents that like to brandish me as a “bandwagoner”, try something new and accurate.

As you can imagine, about 99% of my friends and schoolmates liked the eagles. It was pretty tough in middle school and high school. The eagles had a dominating defense with Reggie White and Jerome Brown, and Randall “Rocket” Cunningham leading the way at QB (never won a playoff game). Regardless of their success, they never won a Super Bowl during that timeframe, in fact, they never even reached one.

During that same time, my beloved Dallas Cowboys had fallen on tough times. During Troy Aikman’s rookie season in 1989, the Cowboys only won one game, against the Washington Redskins, which I remember fondly on that Thanksgiving day. The tables quickly changed when I entered college to see the Cowboys win three Super Bowls in four seasons (1993, 1994, and 1996). To this day, I still keep in close contact with several of my high school friends, and I continue to remind them of how much the eagles SUCK.

If you take great enjoyment in each and every loss suffered by the eagles, feel free to join in the discussion on the blog links for each of the games on the map below. The eagles suck.

Take care...Chris Martin
